| Hello.
I've been looking far and wide for a messeger variant and so far I haven't been able to find something that *works*. The closest thing was the official (old ) Yahoo Messenger for Windows CE 2.0, (the sh3 version for me - HP 620lx ). And that's about it. The problem was, it installs but it gives me a "can't find one of its components" error. Even if it would have worked, I doubt it the old protocols would still work.
I also found IM+ and OdigoMessengerForce, but only versions for CE 3.0+ .
So... any ideas? |

| IrcCE is your only chance then. just like any irc client, it can use the bitlbee (bitlbee.org ) IM gateway to MSN, yahoo, icq, aol, jabber and who knows what else...
you just need to learn some simple commands.
if you need any help, feel free to ask.
that's how i was doing MSN on my MC16 (CE 2.0 ). just for fun
ircce isn't free though but isn't it worth the 15$? (just don't do any copypaste into one of its windows... ) Edited by cmonex 2005-09-11 4:16 PM

| Thanks a lot. I'll see what I can do about it. As soon as I get it, if I have questions, and I'll probably have, I'll ask you.
Errr, what about that copy/paste ? |

| ok
well if you paste a text into ircce it'll close at least the active window or the whole program
ircce is fine otherwise, don't worry |

well, it doesn't work either. I tried the official demo/trial version and it won't run. just great.
do you happen to have that version that worked for you? Edited by utopic 2005-09-12 4:16 PM

| IrcCE also inexplicably crashes when I /join any channels on UnderNet. Anyone know why this might be? It's proving to be a major pain!

| The program works.
But....which is your internet connection? activesync or modem?
Many software that connect to internet dont work by Activesync.

okay, then http://izemize.fw.hu/IrcCE.exe
the very same exe works on my MC16. CE 2.0, SH3, so it should work on your 620LX (do i remember correctly? )
no install needed, just copy it to your 620LX
bee.. bitlbee that's what i was talking about (the IM gateway ) |
