I'm going to pull the rom from a MP790.
Procedure? Unplug AC, remove battery, remove ROM? Am I missing anything?

LOL, suppose I can't find a small screwdriver?

.223 FMJ or 22/250 Hornet to "gently" pop off the cover?

Assuming you are going to put the 790 rom into a 780, be sure you copy all of the bUseful backup files from the Windows folder first as the 790 rom attempts to install them into the flash memory, which will no longer be present, hence no backup program.

But you can copy the 780 files back onto your new hybrid afterwards and it works fine.

22-250...I own one with a 36X scope and bipod. Use it for shooting out headlights of cars a mile away....

Funny, I have a box of scopes somewhere. Bushnell, Leopold, Swarzovski and I never bothered to get the rings or mounts to use them.

I figure it I can't take it out at 500m using iron sights (20/5 * 20/7 vision really helps) what am I doing with the gear anyway?
I dearly would love a nitescope but those are unobtainable up here.

Thanks for the info. I 'll make sure I backup the needed bsquare files before I do the mod.
