Just waiting for my netbook to be delivered and i wanted to know what 3rd party software others have succesfully loaded. I know textmaker works on the pro and now i am looking for a money software package , a spreadsheet , and a advance task manager like RMR task on the old epoc software.
This could be a good place to help each other out and save lots of time for everyone
Thanks
Gavin

Gavin,

You can do no wrong with PlanMaker for a SpreadSheet application, see the following for a review:

You might want to take a look at DiverseInfo http://www.diverseinfo.com/ by Rich Hawley.

This guy has a MobilePro 900C, which runs CE .net 4.2, the same operating system in the Netbook Pro. Altho the MP has a much lower resolution screen. He constantly tries new software and then lists the successful ones.

Good luck

I got Microsoft Money for HPC on the CD when I bought a few years ago my Jornada 568. It was shipped with HPC and PocketPC versions.

You might want to take a look at my blog. I have an informal review of the Netbook Pro, as well as several articles talking about different software that I use on it.

liked the review. (maybe i already told you)

but this isn't really correct: "The 680 requires a different bootloader and has a completely different processor architecture than the 720. In addition, the 680 has flash memory, while the 720 does not, resulting in drastically different install procedures"

it would be nice if the 680 had flash memory, heh. (it doesn't. but a few 720's do have it, very rare though..)

I believe I was reading a thread on Jlime and read something along the lines of "The linux bootloader is installed to flash," which gave me the impression that they J680 had a flash rom. They must have been referring to a flash card, instead.

Do you know how to identify the Jornada 720 & 728 boards that do have the flash memory? I know somebody made up a batch of them for Linux experimentation at some point. Do you mean that some units came straight from the factory with flash rom?
