| Wall, developer of freeware pDOSBox, a DOS OS for PPC, would like know the interest of a DOS port to HPC. He needs 100-or-so willing users, hence this poll.
If you're interested in experimenting with PDOSBox in its current form, follow the thread below for the right files (careful, there are many different versions of pDOSBox ), and once you've got pDOSBox properly installed, see if your tweaks can generate better results in speed than I've been able to generate:

edit: Chris, help Having never made a poll before, I do believe I've left out the actual ballot. Well, I do come from the U.S., where we are far too accustomed to voting problems. Sorry. Edited by Jake 2005-09-19 8:31 AM

| ok, i've tried to register on that forum, haven't received an activation code yet, so i'm writing here that i'm willing to test it on ARM and XScale as well.
and of course count me in, especially if i can run lemmings with this emulator!
edit: ive been able to post on the other forum now. same message. Edited by cmonex 2005-09-19 9:36 AM

| Cmonex,
Did you get a chance to take pDOSBox out for a spin?
I was also wondering--since I'm a geekless moron about anything more forum than basic posting--if you could set up a bona fide poll to feel out the interest for an HPC port?
You're welcome to simply cut-n-paste my original post around a poll of a question or two.

| oh, no, sorry, no time for that yet. i'm testing other things now. but i'll look at it soon!
hm, wouldn't it be considered double posting? you could ask C:Amie to create a poll in this thread. |

| Count me in on the port.
I'll beta test, but be aware that I don't have a whole lot of time to put into it. |

| I had a look to try and change this to a poll, but couldn't - sorry.
But yes, go for it, this'd be a valuable addition to the HPC community! |

| Awesome. I didn't actually expect DOS to be ported to the H/PC.

| HPCers--
Wall, the developer, says he needs 100 interested HPC users to make a DOS port worth his while, so don't be bashful about noting your interest.

| What kind of dos port is this?
I already have pocketdos... what will this do for us?
If it adds something new, then yes I'm interested.

| The developer's home page is http://www.pocketwall.com/pDOSBox/ and apparently, he gets more DOS programs to run on his port than PocketDOS can manage at the present time.

| I'm in. Is it an emulator that runs under CE or is it a bootloader that starts under CE then flushes the ram and loads itself as the resident OS? |
