Not all developers compile SH4 versions
It's the most difficult to compile for
It was short lived, only had 5 or 6 devices to its name
One in every 250 apps (rough estimate) compiled for SH3 will run under SH4 as it was actually compiled as a uni-build.
No Windows Media Player release - heck, no formal app releases by Microsoft

Pretty reliable and has a 64-bit floating point.

hey SH4 isn't so bad you can even have bluetooth working...

another thing... one of my friends has an Aero 8000. he wrote to one or two developers to compile their apps for SH4 and he got very positive results maybe worth a try with other developers too.

I have a Hitachi "E-Plate" Model # HPW600ETM with a nice big VGA sceen!
True, Microsoft dosen't support the SH-4 CPU chip but others do.

From my own testing I have found that programs for SH-3 do not work on sh-4.
However I have found a slew of useful "SH-4" programs.

I am looking for others with a "SH-4" CPU chip to share data and infomation.

If you have one COOL, lets share data.

And if you don't, Please don't "waste our space".

Thanks !!

Hi!
I have Aero 8000, but my first HPC was LG Phenom and in the past I downloaded a lot of programs for SH3. When I bought my Aero I was trying all of this programs on my new device. And sometimes I was able to run programs compiled for SH3 processor but... only this ones, which was compiled for WindowsCE 1.0! Yes, it is not mistake! For WindowsCE 1.0! All of them are working correctly on my Aero. eg. PocketUnZip, Pocked Dial, pdsContacts.

I also have a Hitachi "E-Plate" Model # HPW600ETM . I got it running wireless which is nice to montitor e-mail and instant messages from the sofa. My wife uses it mostly and it would be nice if there was another game besides solitaire. She plays it hour after hour. I'd like to load a few more games such as mahjong or other card games. I have searched a multitude of websites, and downloaded several games that were supposedly compatible but then when installing it says device is not a recognizable device. I've been successful in installing other apps but no games. Any help or links to game sites that work?

No, SH4 isn´t bad at all! It´s WinCE 2.11
Have been looking for SH4 version of Siemens Pocket Reader Software.
The soft for SH3 wasn´t working on my Aero. So I wrote to the guy from Siemens Austria who maintains a very nice website on this little gadget.
He sent me the source code (thanks a lot, Thomas!!!) which I could compile without any problem!
You can download it at http://www.8ung.at/pocketreader/_pr_e.htm
