I've also gotten hold of WizardWorks' Casino Pack (US $6 on eBay, including S & H), which is a pretty good emulation of Vegas casino games - the graphics are good & the rules are consistent with Vegas. (I was getting tired of not being able to double down and/or surrender in other CE blackjack games.)

This one is the only one I've found that includes split, double-down, and surrender options. But I've never seen it anywhere available for download. I also haven't seen it on eBay recently. However, with luck maybe one will turn up again.

All of those options and more are included in the BlackJack version available on MS Entertainment Pack for HPC 2.0. This version also allows you to play by Las Vegas, Reno or Atlantic City Rules and it includes a Blackjack Tutor and Card Counter. All these options can be set by the player......the only thing I would have changed is the ability to add more players. The game is only played between you and the dealer - no other players allowed.

CE Geek,

I've looked around the Internet but can't tell if WizardWorks' Casino Pack will work with HPC 2000 (Jornada 720). Will it?

Jake: Doesn't look like it will work with the J720. The package says it works on SH3 and MIPS processors only.

Hurricane John: The WizardWorks game also lacks mutliple player support. I haven't seen that on any CE blackjack games, only desktop versions.

Bummer! Because there's one on ebay right now. I was ready to bid, so thanks for the warning.

Any idea where to get the MicroSoft Game Pack?

Jake. Always useful to give a location when asking questions like that. If you're in Australia you don't want to here where you can buy it in Paris

I advise all forumers to drop something in the location field in their Profile

There have been a few on eBay from time to time. I mentioned earlier seeing a couple at an electronics chain called Fry's, but I'm in Southern California. I don't know where you are.

TCP/IP tells me you're somewhere around the Gulf States in the USA, making this find I just made relevant:
http://www.thenerds.net/index.php?page=productpage&affid=5&pn=71100011

It's the cheapest that I could find at the equivalent of £13. I paid £27 for mine a couple of years back!

Many thanks for your buying assistance, and forgive my lack of a proper profile. I'm an American living in Costa Rica, but with a U.S. mailing (perhaps that's why my computer comes up with a Gulf State TCP/IP), so it's all very schitzophrenic and confusing, and it's why I don't bother much with profiles.

Chris, thank you for thenerds' shopping tip and CE Geek, thanks for the ebay clue. I had gone to ebay and found in the completed listings that an Entertainment pack had sold for five dollars or so just a couple of weeks ago. Quite reasonable, and I'll keep looking there.

Dunno if I can justify even the nerds' price, since I'm paying my own money to waste my own time--I can do that for free on XP, where I recently spent a dreamy night finding the best world map for desktop wallpaper and figuring out how to excise the black arrows from my desktopshortcuts. That information is available to anyone who cares.

27 pounds, Chris, for Entertainment Pack, ouch! How often do you play the games?

I haven't had it installed for ages. Hard reset a couple of months ago and although the .exe's are on CF, they wont run unless their registry settings are intact, so I need to reinstall.

Stick Costa Rica in your profile, at least its a benchmark

I suddenly remembered the most realistic video Blackjack I ever played, and that was the Blackjack in the old Leisure Suit Larry program. What strange software that was.

Yeah, it really was a very good blackjack game. The only thing was that you could cheat by saving.

Well, I finally got a hold of the Windows CE Entertainment Pack 2.0 at Frys Electronics for the still high price of 32.95 USD and believe it or not, it is compatible with CE 1 devices..
Oh, by the way, where did you find Monopoly for CE 2.0? eBay?

No, I did an MSN search for "Monopoly for Windows CE" and found one vendor (etailgifts.com) that had had both this and Scrabble for CE in stock earlier in the year. The listing for Monopoly was still there, but it said "Out of Stock." After finding no sign of it anywhere else, in desperation I e-mailed this vendor, asking if there was any chance of some more leftover stock coming in. That's when they told me about the one opened package that they had left over. It has both H/PC and Palm-size PC versions included, but interestingly, the latter is in black-and-white only.
