NEC Mobilepro 780 Reset Button

Sometimes when I press the reset button on my NEC it does a soft reset and other times it will do a hard reset, it is really confusing, By the way, I got it used so i don't have a instuction manuual.

Sounds like the performance of the backup batt could be in question and may need replaceing. Could you be pressing the soft reset button for too long?

I've had that happen to me......held the reset button a bit to long and suddenly my 780 was in the middle of a hard reset. Hope you backed up your files

always backup before i do resets. And everyone else should do the same, just in case.

Well, if you do a lot of registry tweaks/other things, and on the 720 its right there...its too tempting not to pop the stylus in there when something goes wrong or its taking to long to process something... I mean, just a pop and bam! Your back at the desktop almost instantly.
