I am trying to secure access to my Jornada 720 using the built in smartcard reader. I have used secusage.exe to add the smartcard tab to the HP Security function in the control panel. The "Log on using smart card" option is greyed out. How do I activate this option? The Smart card status reads Smart card not present and the Initialize control button is greyed out. I have an IBM smart card and the Jornada recognizes this when it is inserted by popping up a message "Card detected in smart card slot"

Does anyone know how to enable the smart card facility in the HP Security Panel? Why is the security panel not recognising that a smart card is present? Does this function work with any smart card? or does it need to be a HP smart card. I have read threads mentioning HP Protect Tools Software - where can I obtain this?

I would appreciate anyone who can throw some light on this for me.

Thanks

Craig

you're out of luck, HP never wrote the driver for the smartcard.
