Problems with outgoing email on Jornada 720

I got myself a great setup - Jornada 720 with a Sierra Wireless 755 Cingular EDGE card for internet access everywhere. While the Explorer works flawesly, I can't get the Inbox to sent any emails out. I set up a Comcast user account, and I can receive fine, but when sending, I get an error mssage about unknown error occuring wile sending. entered the smtp server correctly...

Any ideas?

are you sure the smtp server doesn't need authentication for example?

Yes, no authentication required... I'm going to back up and hard reset the Jornada today and see if it works with minimal software installed.

Hopefully it will work, if not ,are there any good alternative email programs for the HPC2000?

maybe the gprs connection is too slow.
