| While searching i came across this:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnce30/html/wince_ics.asp
what versions of CE has ICS, or which _CAN_ have it ? |

| CE3 Core and higher. Not platform releases. |

| So that means it will run on hpc2000+, but is not included ?
How would i get ahold of the files needed to get ICS running on
HPC2000 ? This is strictly a nerd-adventure. I have a plan to get
a cellular aircard and share it over my wirelessrouter. I want to
use a HPC as the interface because they are cheap, and actually
draw LESS power than my router ! 3.6W vs 5.5W A pc or laptop
will draw 10 to 100 times more power ! Probably be less reliable
too since they have harddrives and fans. I want to stick my HPC
and router up in the attic. Im thinking here in the US T-Mobile
offers unlimited cell data (@56K) for 20-30/month. May not sound
impressive but i only connect at 21.6K on a landline, and have to
get off for phone talking :-(

| HPC2000 is a platform release - not a core release.
Chances are that it probably would run under it, but may need the Kernel replacing.
Ultimately you need a licesned version of PB3 (£4000, plus whatever a MS downgrade rights agreement costs these days), at least one CEOS License (you buy them in threes) |

| Errrr..
hpcmips you say ?
Ill just keep searching. |

| im also considering a libretto, but it only has one pc card slot and no cf slot,
so i dont know if its possible. |

| If you're going to create a LAN bridge, then you need to have two NIC's and routing enbled, and that's just for starters.
The fastest thing to do would be to get a rotuer |

| I have a router (linksys wrt54g), but no broadband. So i require some machine to
feed it the internet. I was thinking of a aircard in my pcmcia slot and a ehternet
in my cf slot on a nec 790. But a libretto only has one pcmcia slot. And no ethernet.
So it probably wont work. Eh, maybe ill just get a sattelite connection, they come
with ethernet. It would just cost 2x / month. and ~400 to start.
My neighbor has sattelite, maybe i need to give him a christmas present of a
'pre-configured' router and tell him it will only work if it sits in a window facing
my house ... ;-) with a power boost it just might reach !

| Well i have messed with NETBSD a bit. Got it to boot a little. But i think it will be too
hard for what i want. I have come up with a new plan !
I will get a phone that can function as a infrared modem. Then i will write a small
program to read all data from the port and write it to the console, and read from
the console and write to the port. Sould be simple, right ?
Then i will install netcat on the HPC, and pipe the I/O from my proggie to NC.exe.
Net cat will send it over the local net to my router where its NC will pipe the I/O back
out to say PPPD or something, which will create an actuall internet link, which the
router will then share back over the wireless network !
Funny in that the net signal will go from cellular to infrared to serial connection over ethernet to finally back to ethernet and wireless again ! ;-)
