Quote little hardware mod to get the velo to recharge the non original batts.
What sort of hardware mod????
I thought about taking the old battery pack apart, but hate to do now with it working some what.
a post in the old wincecity velo forums described it, but i can't remember. the forum disappeared recently when the successor of wincecity again changed names.. but with a little fiddling i can try and find it for you (it should still be there, just isn't linked anywhere on the main page any more.. ) |

| Okay, update, I painted the top part of the Velo 1 black, because the 'coating' on the top was coming off.. I still need to do some touch ups and when I am done, I will show you guys my custom Velo 1 with photos.. |

| got a velo 500... it seems to have a sturdier hinge though it looks exactly the same as the first velo but it just feels more secure.. and the backlight is much stronger. still the velo 1 is more cool as it runs CE 1.0 |

| I like CE 2.0 better .. But I find my Velo 1 nice as a machine to play around with... If I had more RAM, I would try Linux/Unix on it.. I just wish the Velo had built in PCMCIA... I do like it that I can share accesories with my Nino and Velo... |

| Hey guys,
New Velo 1 owner here. Scored her on ebay for a whopping $8.30 shipped. Works good, but no accessories. Have already set it up for internet and email, works great, and for $8.30 internet, you just can't beat that! The internal modem gives it a big advantage over other H/PCs, and it also comes stock with pIE, which I had to load on to my already cramped MP 400. I gotta show some love for my MobilePro though, it has a PCMCIA slot, which a 33.6k modem is coming for later. I got the MP 400 in the box with all accesories for $10 at a local trade. It works good, but the Velo 1 was in my opinion the best WinCE 1.0 device made. Now for WinCE 2.0, I might have a little to say about that if I get what I am looking for... |
