Oh, well, I have bad news... I lost the COmpaq C140 to bidder that paid about 40 USD for it... However, the good news is, I am bidding on yet another H/PC, which just happens to be a Velo 1 ...
and i lost a mobilepro 700 yesterday
some crazy idiot bid 92$ on it!!! (actually, more.. i'm guessing 150! )
this is such a unique hpc........... this was the first true mobilepro.. but i don't see myself wanting a BW screen hpc for that much. ok, if i had too much money i would have bid a lot more on it.
but... i won a casio A-10 for 9.99$. it is the first hpc!!!!! (along with the nec mobilepro 200 )
and it has only 2 mb ram!!! CE 1.0 probably occupies one third of it.... lol Edited by cmonex 2005-11-23 4:12 PM

| If I do get the Velo 1, which does come with the disc, I might be willing to sell it on eBay. (As I bought a standalone H/PC Explorer disc last week...) Thanks cmonex...
Does anyone know if H/PC Explorer disc requires a serial number to run? Does the H/PC Explorer 1.0 disc come with Automap Streets?

| Alas, the H/PC Explorer 1.0 disc did not come with Automap Streets... I do not recommend that anyone purchases an H/PC Explorer disc, unless they A. ) Make sure it is 1.1, as 1.1 has Streets and B. ) The person just wants it for geeky purposes ... |

| Well, I recieved my Velo 1 today . It works great and I installed Powertoys 1.0... Although syncing, I rather dislike the fact that you cannot change the serial speed from 19200. I plan on installing more programs later.. |

| Yes, I did not notice much of a difference either
Pocket DOS does have a CE 1 version, however it requires much program memory to run... |

| Make sure you leave a dedicated 2-3 MB of memory to run it... |

| Dunno if you "new" Velo folks have a working NiMh battery pack, but mine came with two, both homemade, neither particularly good (the two batteries are untabbed and joine by tape, good grief).
So I ordered two tabbed 2200 AA batteries and bought the 10k_1/4watt resistor from Radio Shack, and I'll build my own.
If it works, I'll post, but I found lots of do-it-yourself Velo pack advice on the web. At one time, the Velo had quite a following. Jason Dunn's site is still the overlord, and thank goodness he hasn't taken it down. I learned a LOT from him.
