I would recommend NEC/Celux 300HC to you, if you could find a way to buy one.
It has Intel PXA250 300Mhz and this guarantees the number of compatible software; besides, 300HC has a full-sized usb host port and does not any clumsy adpater wire. I have found a working USB mass storage driver for it. You can connect to usb thumb drive, usb hdd and even usb gps with 300HC and this driver.
My thoughts on 300HC.

Sigmarion II (S2, not S3 ) is also a good candidate. It has 200Mhz CPU and an independent video card. It is very fast and even faster than 300HC with 300Mhz CPu in some operations. It also has usb host capacities.

| There's no USB port, no. Only the 800 and 880 had those. I like my 790 as well, but the only problem is that more H/PC 2000 software is available for ARM devices (like the J720 ) than for MIPS devices like the MP790. |

these machines are *great* even if they're in japanese! the problem is japanese for english users the biggest problem is that how we can get them...
btw i've sent you a PM about this (english OS files on japanese HC300.. ). please check it thanks.
tenjeangosi: these two machines are great but if you can't get them or don't want japanese:
J72x, NEC 790, 900, intermec 6651 are the best. the best value for the money is the 790, yeah.. |

all of them offer that. except the 790.. but you can sync via lan or wlan, much easier and faster. |

| cmonex,
With LAN, would sync speeds be either 10 MBPS and/or 100 MBPS. If yes, then I will get the 790. I guess USB is not exactly a necessitiy (I probably spelt it wrong ).

| Hiya!
i am gonna toss my $.02 in on this. i've an NEC 780 that was upgraded to a 790. i use this baby in class (Nursing student here ) i have had more people say & i quote "what is that? thats so cool!! where'd you get it? whats it do? its not a laptop? WOW!! i gotta get me one of them!!!"
i use the 790 MORE than i use my desktop pc!!!
i have been running round the net and you would not beleive the programs that are out there for this even though it is a MIPS processor. for my chem class, i found a periodic table of elements program!! i have to say the only thing better than my NEC? would be if i could get ahold of an NEC 900 and that only because the processor is faster think it's an ARM processor for the 900. and there are way more apps for the ARM than the MIPS.
there you have my priases of the 790. my kids keep teasing me about it, i named my 790 "MY PRECIOUS"!! as they have seen the Lord of the Ring movies, everytime i synq the 790 to my pc, an they walk behind me ( look at my desktop monitor ) they giggle hystericly.
CIAO!!

ok if you like the size of it (portability or comfortability? ), go for it! NEC stuff is really great.
if you're unsure you might want to see comparison pics of a NEC MP900 (C ) and J728, visit my site (izemize.fw.hu/hpc.php )
it really depends how and what you use the hpc for. |
