Hi all,

Here's a good list of wifi cf cards with partial specs. They are listed for compatibility with Zaurus, but I thought the info inside is pretty neat.

There's a better straight list here:

I use a compact flash adaptor so I can use the CF RAM card in the PCMCIA port on my Jornada 820

Is there a way to use a wireless network CF card with that adaptor?

The adaptor was from office depot or some such, about $10.00 and it's simply a translator of pins, I guess.

what do you think?

Yes you should not have any problems with it.

Take Socket as an Example. There is a bundle of their LPE where you get the CF LPE adapter and a PCMCIA extender. Useful for H/PC users and laptop owners.

Yes I actually picked up a SanDisk adapter for $10 when I bought my j728 from Staples. Works just fine for using the CF wifi card in the PC Card slot

Note, if you haven't bought the CF wifi card, make sure which CF type it is. "Type I" is the thinner type that all flash memory cards are. However some CF wifi cards are "Type I" (like mine) while others are in the "Type II" format. Type II is thicker and won't fit into a Type I slot. Most PC Card adapters are for CF Type I only, so watch out for that.

Cool. I didn't think CF wireless will work on a adapter... Maybe I'll get a cheap PCMCIA-CF adapter and connect my WLI-CF-S11G on my Mobile Gear II.

Re your CF wifi card ... does this give reasonable battery life? My Cisco Aironet 2 350 (PCMCIA type) works fine BUT will drain the 790's battery down from 'fully charged' to 'virtually empty' in just 9 minutes?

If you do get reasonable life, exactly what model is it, so I can search for one? Did/does it come with the driver?

Thanks,

RJ99
