Hi, I am having similar problems.
I have an IBM z50 with a 16 bit Netgear MA401 card. I am using the Linksys WPC11 driver with it. The driver recognises the card
(or vice versa
) and I can configure it to connect to my wireless network
(infrastructure mode, 128 bit encrypted
) with good signal strength. This works _only_ after a soft reset when I get the "card detected in slot" dialogue.
I do not get an IP address. I am using a Netgear WiFi
(.11a
) router.
With DHCP enabled my router shows the z50
(with network ID "Host1"
as attached
(and having an IP address
) very briefly but this disappears as an attached device within seconds. The z50 network utilities
(MS PowerToys
) do not show the z50 as having an IP address and I get a DHCP failure dialogue.
When the z50 suspends, on resuming WinCE the card is not active.
I have tried setting the networking manually
(IP Address, Gateways, DNS
) but this did not work at all.
I dug my z50 out after years of neglect to see if VNC would give it a new lease of life and would be grateful to hear of a resolution to our joint problem.
