Hi,

Is there a PCMCIA ethernet card and/or wireless card that is still readily avaliable and is compatible with CE 2.0.

Thanks,

Joseph

EDIT: Oops, a double post/thread. Sorry, C:Amie, can you please delete on of the threads? Thanks

My Agere ORiNOCO Gold card works just fine on my monochrome LG Phenom (CE 2.0) as well as on all my H/PC Pro and H/PC 2000 devices. I've seen lots of them on eBay. But, as I've mentioned on other threads (for H/PC Pro), you want the Lucent/Agere card, not the Avaya/Proxim one. Look for ORiNOCO on the HCL; the 2.0 driver there works fine.

yes there are some.

many of the prism based wlan cards will work just fine. beware, not all of them.

my microcom ce combo lan/56k card worked fine with the ne2000 driver, even though it is 10/100 and not just a 10 mbps card

Cool, I can just imagine installing a program is 10 seconds... And gosh, everythingis so weird in 256 colors (I am using my Compaq 2010c). Hey, I have an idea. Has anyone used Bluetooth Serial adapter, because you do not need the PCMCIA wireless cards, you can use the adapter and just sit somewhere else in your home and use internet and also transfering files with the host computer.

you can get a bluetooth CF for your MIPS CE 2.0

unfortunately, its range is not as good as wlan. much worse in fact. speed too.

better to use the pcmcia (even better, CF) wlan card

3C589C, pick them up for £2 on eBay, work in pretty much anything (except some 2.11 devices that lack an updated pcmcia.dll)

Adaptor CF=>PCMCIA?????
I only know PCMCIA=>CF and thats possible because cf is a reduced pcmcia...
vice versa there will be some pins missing i think.

marco

PS: I have found an easteregg in Pocket Excel(CE1 and CE2): Use the "Go to...." menu function to navigate to AA1000 then type in in small letters:"credits" without the "" and it will display you two credit pages...
