There is an updated DDI.dll on the hp site for it, that will boost the colour depth.

Already installed. But still my pix are looking like 256k.....

Marco

PS: Technically the diff between 256 colors, 16 bit and 32 bit is only the number of available colors, which are all defined by differnet voltages on r,g and b part of a pixel.
Why cant a normal hpc then make 32bit colors?

MSPIE doesn't support true colour.

The Graphics controller doesn't have the addressing space or the cpu time or the memory for anything higher than what the OEM allows you.
The screen technology isn't designed to support it either.

If you don't want to follow what the OEM says, i think you'll need to write your own screen driver , which by the way is not a TFT, but a DSTN screen.

Hope this helps
