I don't know the specifics of Yahoo, I'd imagine that they either have a odd system of user name convention - like MSN. Or, they require secure authentication before they let you in.

Have a look for nPop, see if that works.

Free yahoo mail accounts do not allow pop3 access, such as through outlook or npop. If you get dsl through yahoo, the you can type in under the pop3 box pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com, and smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com under the smtp box. Then fill in your user account. If ou have a free account, yahoo allows mobile access to their email. Go to mobile yahoo, don't know the address search it up, and enter your account name/password there to get to your mail. This seems to be the best solution.

I have gmail, thanks. Yes, it is pop3. BUT it will not work on your hpc. As it requires a secure connection, which npop cannot give. It also needs to be enabled in your gmail options. If anyone has gotten qmail to work, if they could post their results that would be helpful.

Well, I have a different version of the email problem.

I have a NEC 780 that works just fine with Yahoo, ... but my NEC 880 can't get signed on. I get a security message of some sort. (Can't establish a secured connection, or some such rot)

Investigation seems to indicate that the two NEC units have the same OP System, and the same version of Internet Explorer.

Now I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

Any Ideas??

You 2 could allways try access threw yahoo mobile..the address escapes me @ the moment, but you should be able to get your mail just fine, less graphical, and less option...but you can read and write new email....it is included in the hpc favriotes cab located in the download section of this site....Steve

Have you installed SP1 / 128-bit SSL update on it. They're up for grabs in Support and Downloads respectivly.

Gmail-lite = http://www.pc-counselor.com/gmail/index.php , Yahoo Mobile Mail = http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/raw?dp=mail , Yahoo Mobile other = Once signed in, click on Yahoo! Home near the bottom of the page.

The Yahoo email client isn't that great, the other Yahoo Mobile apps can be useful. Gmail-lite, on the other hand, has what seems like full functionality. I am glad that I stumbled upon it as it seemed that I would never be able to access gmail until we finally make a new web browser .

SP1 doesn't seem to be listed in 'Support' , for the NEC units.(780, 880)

Will one of the listed SP1 downloads work for NEC units, ...or is there another approach?

I have already loaded 128 bit encription.

Sp1 refers to sp1 for CE 2.0 right? In that case it wouldn't be specifically for the nec's.

-C:Amie, did I just screw up again? hehe
