I downloaed the Kaffe program for ce 2.11 (although i have 3.0 for mips),
and it runs but always gives me errors, i am a newbie to java.
So has anyone ran Kaffe on windows ce MIPS ?

Even if you havent how should i try to run a 'jar' program, i have
'jar' programs of RSS reader, mobile basic, and chess that ran on
my phone, but if i try to run them with
"/kaffe/kaff -jar rss.jar"
i get
'Can't access JAR file "rss.jar":java.io.IOException: No such zip files rss.jar'

How should i try to execute them ?

What should my environment variables be ? KAFFECLASSPATH,KAFFEHOME,KAFFELIBRARYPATH=?

any suggestions ?

PS if anyone has a copy of J9 for CE MIPS you can email me !

Well, i managed to get kaffe for CE to run a simple hello world app.
I had to compile it on one of the free online compilers, i had old
1.1x 1.2x jdk on some old cd, but javac crashes on XP with them.

Supposedly kjc.jar hold a java compiler written in java ! but i cant
get kaffe to even admit the file exists. I dont know how to make
kaffe work the jar files.

I was going to try to see if netclue browser would run on it, but i give up ;-)

EDIT: Never mind, you are talking about compilers..

"Supported JVM
A major issue for integrating Java based solutions is the choice of a Java virtual machine. Thanks to Java's pupularity, there are many JVM implementations available. Clue Browser is written completely in Java, and it will run on any compliant JVM. Specifically, we've verified with the following implementations:

OTI J9 (IBM VisualAge Micro Edition)
Insignia Jeode
Elate of Tao Group
SavaJe"

hrm, it would work fine on hpc2000 ARM...

dont you want to try Sun's pjava? that has a chance if jeode can run this browser.
