Network activesync on MP790!

Yes, finally got activesync to work on MP790!

It turns out that somehow indicating the host pc ip address in the WINS ip under the wifi network card on my MP790 doesn't quite cut it. See http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/c/0012.asp

Article http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/c/0014.asp shows how host file is setup.

Alternatively, you can use PocketHost http://www.zimac.de/cestuff.htm (which is what I did!)

THen it works just fine.

The only way to have it automatically hook up to the host, no hosts / WINS spoofing is to actually have a MS WINS server.
Even a fully fledged internal DNS server provides sketchy results. CE Needs better NetBIOS resolution IMHO.
