No, no, no. I am siding with Chiark, you definitely need to learn to program.

The java program would most likely need to be ported, and the nintendo game to be remade. Or an emulator to be available - but I doubt most H/PC's could emulate a DS well.

Porting is really a hard job when you don't have the source and when you can't speak Java.
To the DS: The DS is a handheld infact, with 2 screens(I thin 2x (200x200)), the lower one with touchscreen and they are ARM powered.

Wikipedia(DE) says:
Hardware-Spezifikationen

CPU:

* Hauptprozessor: ARM 946E-S (67 MHz)
* Subprozessor: ARM 7 TDMI (33MHz)

Speicher:

* Arbeitsspeicher: 4 MByte
* VRAM: 656 KByte

LCD Bildschirm:

* Bildschirmgröße: zwei Bildschirme, je 61 x 46 mm, 256 x 192 Bildpunkte (RGB)
* Farben: 262.144
* Hintergrundbeleuchtung

Grafik 2D:

* BG: maximal zwei Bildschirme
* OBJ: maximal 128 Sprites

Grafik 3D:

* Polygon Zeichenrate: maximal 120K Polygone/s
* Pixel Füllrate: maximal 30M Polygone/s

Klang:

* Stereo (für Kopfhörer und Lautsprecher)
* Mikrofoneingang

Drahtlose Kommunikation:

* IEEE 802.11b
* IEEE 802.11b basiertes proprietäres Protokoll

Befehlseingabe:

* Touchscreen (z.B. per Stylus oder Daumenstylus)
* Steuerkreuz
* Tasten A, B, X, Y, R, L, Select & Start, Power
* Mikrofon

Energieversorgung:

* Power Management für 2D-, Geometry-, Renderingengine und LCD.
* Lithium-Ion Akku

I think the only difficulty would be the game modules-are the a modded IDE???

Marco

PS: The HPC has 256 colors, the DS has 256k colors:-(

I know exactly what the DS is made of. There have been talks about it before on the forum.

The fact is, it is a graphics machine. It has more than one processor to handle certain tasks for gaming, and that is why its performance is greater. When you have multiple processors, they do not have to be blazing to get the job done. Guess how consoles work.

You may not know java, but if you want the software, someone has to port it. It most likely will not *just work*.

No, no, no, no, nope, no, absolutly not, no.

Some newer PC's cant even run a DS emulator at true speed, and I'm talking dual-core computers here. Now, take that, divide by 4 (2 squared), and then divide by 40^2 and then tell me how many FPS you could possibly get, from say 120 or so on the true machine. Our little H/PC machines simply dont have the power to do anything like that.

Think of it like this:
WinXP:Win95::Ce5.0::Most H/PCs and WinXP:CE5.0::The Omnitheater:Your TV.
Read: Our current operating system is to it's eldest predecessor as most of our machines are to the current flagship of the H/PC operating system, and our newest operating system for big PCs is to our newest H/PC operating system as a visit to the Omnitheater is to watching the boob tube.

(I dont mean to insult H/PC 2k users, I just imagine most people have H/PC pro and 2.0 devices, and I'm sure he's talking about his 620LX)
