| Wanted to add: I'm installing AIM and IE 6 on it as we speak.... It's got Win98SE on it and downloading w/e SP's it has.... Possibly I'll go Linux, but first I need a HDD in it larger than a singular GB :-P |

| Not necessarily...
You can get well more than that machine can run in 1gb. |

| I got it for 5 things:
MP3s, Mobile Internet, Command and Conquer, Starcraft and Word Processing :-P
I have nothing installed but updates and AIM and I'm using more than 3/4 the available space! I already cut most the fat off of Win98 but I need less fat then still! |

| Try LitePC, it can reduce Windows 98 down to 4mb... (of course, that probably includes IE6 and WMP9, as in being gone... )

| I have bought a NEC READY 120LT and a Toshiba Libretto 50m.
The NEC came with both the cd and floppy external drives. The battery was kaput, so I went to BATTERIES PLUS and bought individual cells, split the original case, de-soldered the old connections , resoldered the new batteries and glued the battery case back together. Cost? ,<$40.00.
The little unit is great for when I travel on my motorcycles. The DSTN screen leaves a lot to be desired. I'm running Win 98 se, light, on it. I also have a 2nd hard drive loaded with VECTOR LINUX 5, that I am playing around with.
The Libretto 50m was a "Japan only" touch screen model. It was showing great promise, Till It Died on the 3rd boot. The unit came out of China, so I'm not very optimistic about getting a replacemant, or my money back, I guess I'll Ebay it as a parts machine. |

| Parts? Will you consider a trade?? :-)
I just got my Qpid (120LT clone) and it's wonderful.. except for the DSTN screen! Bleh! I havn't seen more submarining since the cold war! Mine came without a battery, I'm in need of some guts so I can do my own replacement :-)
I just ordered a new set of batteries (total 4000mAh) for the Traveller, it can fit both at once :-) $35 shipped!!! BNIB NRFB NO-DOA etc etc wonderful deal :-)
I personally dont buy anything from any countries other than good old USA and Canada.... With certain exceptions (cheap-o USB hubs and 3.5->2.5" ATA adaptors come from anywhere cheapest)

| When I get my CF reader back, I'll show you why you dont buy HDDs second hand from an unknown source....
In the meantime, whomever guesses within 5 of the number of bad sectors on my 'new' Toshiba 8.5mm 3.2GB drive gets $.50 Paypal :-P
Keep in mind, it *was* booting in the recent past, just 6 months before it was packed up and then disassembled for my Traveller.... The machine it came in was no micro, I was surprised when I found it. It stopped working, I took it apart, and C:\>SCANDISK C: and here I am :-)
Everybody gets 2 guesses, must be in the same post. I find it amazing it still powers up :-P |

| Just saw a Fujitsu Stylistic LT on eBay for $175 BIN. Not bad - about the size and weight of my MP800. |
