| You can use SM if you get yourself a PCMCIA adapter to act as a converter. There are some in the HCL. The slot I think you are referring to is the SmartCard reader - this is for system security. |

| It costs little less than the 720 itself - $150. That's why we all don't have one.
-See? If they were smarter, they would lower the price, and get a ton of orders, instead of none! Everyone would be happy! Sigh. |

| I'd buy a Ratoc for each hpc I own without native USB if they were $50 US or less.
That would be 3 or 4 cards. 720/720/790/Amity. I'm sure each of us would get at least one, maybe more. Maybe Ratoc will smarten up. If/when they go bust the cards will get liquidated on ebay, maybe cheap. |

| I would like to see the forum successfully come together for something like this...
In the meantime, I am still trying to see if such a thing would work for the possible 720 tft. But currently, as we do not know if it works, and ordering one would be so expensive, if the forum wants to donate a little over 300 Euros for the test, it would be welcome. |

| Well,
I would certainly support it. There must be a mechanism for the members to put in the funds though as we are located all over the place. Admins.. any ideas? |

| The owners are always willing to get involved with something like this. We're more than happy to cotnact the companies on the communities behalf, discuss and negotiate with them and then come to an arrangement - as well as provide logistics.
The problem has always been that whenever we have tried in the past, there have not been sufficient people on the H/PC Community side who actually sign-up and then follow through and deliver.
I have paypal, and it's a confirmed account (not credit card enabled) and can accept international bank transferrs, UK cheques and so fourth.
I'm sure that Clint is in a similar situation in the US. |
