Hello,

I'm the happy winner of a HP Jornada memory module 16Mb ROM + 32Mb RAM (HP F1816-60913) for my Jornada 720, I just win it so I don't have it already.. guess it's gonna take a week to come from england to canada..

I have some questions, by upgrading the ROM and the RAM, will I get a updated version of the ROM or is it gonna be the same thing? I'm currently have the core system version 3.0, build 9546-126. Do we have all the same build?

Will I get the core/build of the 728? Or is it the same? I'm asking that because I read here that 728 are more stable than the 720, maybe the upgrade will be more stable?

I also have a 680, can I fit the memory module of the 720 into the 680 and get 2 Jornada 720 ?

Anyone has purchase that upgrade? Is it difficult to install?

Thanks all,

DarkShadow

erm, i don't understand...

you won a J720 daugherboard ram/rom module, didn't you. why would it have the J728's rom?

not sure why you bought it at all, though i'd buy a 728 ram/rom to have a backup for my J728...

you can't put it in the 680, even the processor is different... how could a SH3 cpu cope with ARM code?

oh and even the memory itself isn't compatible with the 680..

anyway it is relatively easy to install the module after you managed to lift the keyboard, etc., look for instructions..

I see, I thought that it was a module taken from a j728... but it's only a j720 with 32megs or RAM, instead of 16megs...

Still, I am curious to see if it will be the same ROM version build ...

The 728 is 64MB, so it's a dead giveaway that it's a 710/720's ROM chip.
