Try Nvu, or, if you are willing to pay, NetObjects Fusion (I think 8 is the latest version), it will create the whole design for you, but it is a little basic for more advanced use.

I didn't use Nvu much, but it is supposed to be quite good.

I edit a lot of my sites manually, saves loading the extremly slow Dreamweaver 8

Back to part of the original topic, I use Office 2003 for compatibility, for example the Microsoft Partner program documents require a Office 2003 only Security option.

Well, I have been playing around with Portable Open Office 2.0 on a memory stick and some of you may utter a loud 'Duh!' at me, however, Write in Open Office allows exporting to PDF..

I have used OO for several years and had no problems taking my files to the office, a Microsoft environment. Macros in Excel do not work in OO. All of the PP presentations I have made have worked. Occassionally a very, very fancy doc in OO will have a minor glitch in Word.

One problem you may have...there are security issues with OO...I don't understand all the details in this but I have never had a problem.

huh, no macros?

ah, i made a word doc which wasnt that complex, it just contained a lot of pics and OO screwed it up.

anyway freeware is a big advantage i'm sure
