Hi all,

Does anyone know of a pop mail client on wince HPC2000/HPCPro that supports SSL for both pop and smtp?

I tried nPop but it does not seem to have the option for ssl.

If I can get one to run, then Gmail can be accessed.

SMTP error. (0x000B0000)
Failed to initialize SSL.
220 2.0.0 Ready to start TLS

POP3 error. (0x000C0000)

maybe these links can help:

http://www.voy.com/24979/9122.html
http://www.voy.com/24979/9143.html

these should be enough for proper setup helped me much to achieve gmail access on the jornada 720.. nec 790 (or what have you got?) shouldn't be any different. if you're still having problems, i'll try to help you.

CA.pem already in place, yes! I can do receive from Gmail using J690 flawlessly, ... *BUT* I can not send an e-mail.

Which option should I choose port 465 with SSL or 587 with STARTTLS, I've even tried the combination among above with no luck. Please advise

it is 587, starttls for me. but 465 with starttls could work as well. SSL, no, that's for pop3.

Thanks cmonex, so for sure, I should use STARTTLS but the port may 587 or 465... I love Qmail, ... preparing to un-install nPOP

ok. do you have any idea if qmail handles header downloading: on first connect, it should download only headers and then retrieve full copies of the selected emails. inbox and nPOP are capable of this and it is important for me.

First set the sync filter to download "POP3 Header Only", you can set it from Accounts->Advanced->Sync Filter. To do mark for download message, press 'O' in the message list window.
