Here you go ... NEC releases a harddisk-less notebook. Not sure about the specs, but its almost like a HPC, except for its 12.1" LCD, 3gb flashrom and 512MB ram and it runs WindowsXP.

nice.. but this laptop is too big for me.. if it were much smaller (like 5"-7" screen, oh and 600 g at most) i would be all over it.
it is promising though, maybe in the future..

750,000 HUF... hmmm ok maybe usually they cost just 600,000? but i saw a nice lifebook for that much
ridiculous because here almost no one has that much for a subnotebook

I'd like to see exactly what it DOES have for a C: drive, possibly to see when they release the technology seperatly... My HDD is the biggest power drain to my laptops by almost 75%!

i think it's a flash based drive, like when you plug a pendrive to your windows box, but in this case it's *not* removable.

Is the HDD the biggest power drain?? i thought it was the screen!!

yeah i agree, i thought that the screen eats as much as the hdd.. 75% sounds a little too much to me
