I am worried that the cloud might come down this far, it probably will if the wind blows hard enough!! They said that the cloud will be heading south, so far, its stayed well away from West Sussex (Where I am).

I guess it will hit me before you

Too much pressure, arsonists, Chavs, you name it. Though I doubt the latter.

I live in a rinky-dink town in the middle of Michigan, yet our local television station 40 miles away had footage on the fire. Obviously significant enough to warrant world-wide coverage.

Funny, you see the news and the first thought isn't "I hope there were no injuries and the local community is going to survive the local disaster."

No, the first thought that crosses your mind is "I wonder if the price of gasoline is going to rise now...."

Thank goodness there was no interruption of service to HPC Factor...I'd go into shock for sure.

Rich

It was on the news in Austin, but we didn't have the photos you provided. How are things for you now?

erm.. no not really... I couldn't give a flying if petrol prices went up. There are more important things in this life than flaming crude oil. (pun not intended)

They have most of the main fires out now, and TV crews are starting to be able to get into the damaged areas of Hemel, it's pretty bad. I have yet to go back up Breakspear Way and see for myself.

I did not think of the price of oil. I wanted to know if anyone was hurt. I also wanted to know how it happened. I hope it wasn't terrorism. It seems it wasn't. There was a huge explosion in Texas City a few months ago at a plant there. We have had a lot of those. Anyhow it turned out to be a management problem. I guess it was world news???

My first thoughts were: "Why didn't I hear of this earlier?" and "What about the air?"

Oh well.

That was one of my later thoughts, and goes along with "was anyone hurt?"
