all you need to do to get the WBA settings app to work is drop mfcce300.dll (404K), olece300.dll (254K) & doclist.dll (3K) into the wisbar advance folder in program files.

It operates fine with these three stubs.

Sorry, doesn't work I have been trying to install onto the CF card, but I tried RAM this time and got the same results

Have you installed Acrobat 1.0 from this site?

Me? tried Acrobat 2 but it didn't work. Downloaded it from Cmonex, works good.

Cmonex,
It works!! Now I just have to figure it out My taskbar and wisbar don't seem to agree on anything Taskbar is in front and wont let it show. Also, I can't see all of the options (because of the bottom of the screen) What is the freeware program that lets me see PPC stuff? I have tried NYDITOT and did not like it. Any tips or tricks anyone would like to share with me, please feel free.

Thanks again,
Moe

MoMagnum,

If you go into \windows, and find mfcce300.dll, as an experiment if you close all your running apps down, can you move that file out of \windows to the system root?

If so, what happens if you attempt to run any your apps there after?
Cheers.

Trying to work out in my own mind why there seem to be certain applications which lock the MFC file and prevent other programs playing happily.

I have no problem running Acrobat or Wisbar withough the need for hexing, yet clearly you and cmonex do.
Now, we can probably impart that onto Prism and Socket drivers, but I'm interested in the root cause of why it's getting locked (seemingly) in the first place

Yeah, I've noticed that too. If you stumble on the answer, I trust you'll let us know.

if you're running ONLY acrobat and wisbar at the same time, of course you will not have problems. they both use the same ppc mfcce.
time to get a nice wlan and bt card... eh?

anyway it is really an interesting topic... i want to know too...
and my humble opinion i couldn't tell you last night... i don1t think it is locked, as i can still use wisbar while having the bt card in... but i canNOT use netfront. maybe it is just that that certain exports (or imports, i forgot.. ) aren't the same in the two mfcce dll, of course.. or something like that.. i'm no programmer, but with this mfc issue if i don't hexedit i (and others) either get the missing dll message or the illegal operation message. that's why i think it's not just getting "locked", i.e. of course the other program will still try to access the loaded mfcce300, but it won't work as they're not compatible
hhm, though we can see Moe couldn't use even wisbar, that just complicates things further!
sorry if this is not making sense to real programmers

ps. looking at your post times, it wasn't me eventually who was trying to work out this all night...
