| I've had a look at the boxing day flyers for all my local big box stores. I'm pleased to say there's nothing of note for me to purchase.
With the deals you've seen me finding recently it comes as no surprise. Literally everything I wanted (so I think) I've found on the clearance tables or buried away.
So I won't be up early and standing in any lines to save a few bucks on boxing day. Last time I did a boxing day blitz was 5 years ago when I needed many parts to build systems for family members. I bounced around buying burners, hdds, monitors, printers, et al and saved a great deal of money.
How about the rest of you? Is there anything you've seen so cheap you'll be up early hoping to get one? computer or otherwise?

| Tell me, in Hungary, is the lions share of Christmas celebrated on the 24th like it is in the Czech Republic? Is the traditional Christmas meal fish?
Just curious |

| Oh I don't know. Boxing day can be hand-hand combat at times. We Canoodlians are more polite and always say excuse me after delivering a rabbit punch, whereas I hear our US friends take handguns to the big boxing day blowouts |

| Boxing day in the Commonwealth is nothing more than the first shopping day of the January sales.
What do they call it South in the US, Boxing Day, St Stephens day or the Second day of Christmas?
Or may be the 26th December |

| It's just 26 December - no name. (I'm tempted to respond with the old joke, "Do you have a Fourth of July in England?" ) But we do just what the Canadians do; we just don't give it a name, other than "After Christmas Sale!"
BTW, wallythacker, don't they say "Excuse me, eh?" after the rabbit punch? Edited by CE Geek 2005-12-23 5:47 PM

well usually we celebrate the evening of 24th ... 25th and 26th are still christmas, but no big deal... though on the 26th our family always spends an evening together with the more remote relatives, they come from even germany and canada (we have relatives everywhere eh )
but we could certainly do with such a thing as boxing day |

| Do these relatives have WiFi?
The thought that you'll be off-line and off-forum for three days It's inhumane
I shall lobby my MEP to make Boxing Day a EU wide event
... who is my MEP... humm
*googles*
Ah. Mrs Sharon Bowles
Good news, she's Liberal Democrat, I'll just tell her that Hungarians are being abused by not having Boxing Day |

| Yes, Canada will join the EU on a boxing day platform! We'll bring our vast experience with our elbows into the fold. (Why do you think the NHL'ers are so good with their elbows anyway, eh? )
We'll even promise to exchange our central Ontario winter for some nice southern English winter weather.
To seal the deal we'll promise to keep our unwashed unWEPed masses uneducated so EU'ers can wardrive to their hearts content
Note: Must act now, this is a limited time offer, shipping and handling non-refundable. |
