I have a bent pin for my Intermec 6651 for the PC slot. It can that way.I start putting things in there to straighten it out but was afraid that it may break.

S/F,
CEYA!

I stripped my Casio right down and had easy access but I still broke the pin. Once a pin is bent it tends to crack off at the bend. Ceya, you did the right thing. Learn to live with the bent pin.

I've always been careful with cf/pcmcia cards so perhaps my Casio pin was already a little bent when I got it.

This may help someone else in the same boat.

I used a short length of a steel guitar string to fix things. I chose a string that was a tight fit into the corresponding broken pin hole on my gps. I cut the string to protude about 1mm longer than the length of the pins in the cf socket.

I carefully inserted the gps (with makeshift protruding pin) into my Casio.

After powering up and running PS2005 the GPS was recognized and seemed to work ok.

So, I'm tempting fate if I remove the gps, so I won't. I'll just look at my Casio now as having factory gps and a SD slot. Perhaps I'll drop a blob of hot glue between the gps and Casio housing to stop me (or anyone else) from inadvertently pulling the card. One nice thing is the Casio lacks an eject provision for the cf slot.

I still have the sled if I want wifi or a CF card for more memory.

It's not a perfect solution but it's not a perfect world.
