In a few hours, I will add my desk, after I clean it up anyway...
In a few hours... just how messy is your desk? Shall I call you a skip?
Well, it just needed to be organized, that is all... |

Since Wifey is in Kentucky this month, there is widespread peripheral fallout,
the Compaq Aero, the Emachine laptop, the Nec Ready 120 lt and the Dell Axim on the dinette,
what kind of compaq aero is this?! |

| Couldn't they at least go with their H/PCs at the table instead of those big notebooks? Edited by CE Geek 2006-01-15 3:37 PM

| Correct, Contura Aero 4/33
I got it for my youngest grandson to play games etc. I think I paid $14.00.
Its actually a neat little machine. It runs win95 O.K.
The NEC Ready is set up with a 30 gig hard drive, 15gig for win 98se/Lite and 15gig for Vector Linux SoHo, with Lilo for the boot manager. The funny thing about the Nec, with the original drive and factory win 98 install it is slow beyond belief. With the fresh 98 se install it zooms, with Vector Linux booted it flies.
I love working with the old portables and the H/PC's. |

You don't want to see my desk. There's no place to put my gadgets - too much paperwork. Besides, why would I leave my gadgets on my desk? They go wherever I go.
I could clean it up, but to do that I'd have to put my H/PCs down . . . . Edited by CE Geek 2006-01-15 11:02 PM

| Hey, I remember the Aero. We had a few at the college for staff use. I liked them greatly for the time. Lol, IIIRC, they cost IT about $3k each. $14 bux? What a steal. |

| All right, you asked for it . . .
(Sorry for the delay, but I had to solicit bids for a cleaning crew to haul the junk away from this room. )
From left to right: Clio 1050c; Compaq Aero 1550 Pocket PC (which I can only use on AC power right now while I wait for a couple of batteries I bought on eBay for it ); the trusty Jornada 680e (whose batteries seem to last forever ); MobilePro 790 (the workhorse of the bunch ); and MP800
Yes, I'm still using a 14-inch monitor on my desktop. (A friend gave me [for free] a used 21-inch that lasted for about a month before the CRT started to burn out. This tiny little thing, which I've had for nine years, seems to last forever. ) (Pic0001.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Pic0001.jpg (66KB - 10 downloads) |
