Would someone help me get ministumbler up and running on my J728? I'm using Orinoco Wireless Original Classic Gold PC Card with Windows CE Driver (WLLUC46) v 7.62 and Client Manager v 2.10. Has anyone written correction for:

Fatal Application Error

Application MiniStumbler.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

Program: MiniStumbler.exe
Exception: 0xc0000005
Address: 00d6f2ac

Being a newbie at this, I'd appreciate a detailed response, if possible. In other words, do not assume that I would know what to do with minimal instructions.

Thanks,
J0HN

download and try this: http://izemize.fw.hu/MiniStumbler.exe

if that doesn't work, then what is the size of your MFCCE300.DLL in the \Windows dir on your J728? i need exact size in bytes.

Thanks for your response.

Copy the .exe to the jornada with Active sync, run it on the Jornada. It is not meant to be run from the desktop; it is not valid Win32 app

Sorry, couldn't resist the last part

Good luck with it

I thought about it and did attempt -- the error says that it is not valid Windows CE app.

Thanks

mhmm.. same exe works fine on my J72x.
your mfcce300 is OK.
maybe try to redownload the exe (258048 bytes) or just try the different cabs for ministumbler, i remember one of them worked in the end, but it wasn't the hpc2000 one.. or i can't remember correctly.

Thanks for providing the file size (258048 bytes).  That's my problem . . . when downloading the file, only 146000 bytes downloads.  I have tried different computers; even went to my library.  At the library only 252000 bytes downloaded.  I tried http://www.netstumbler.com/downloads/ but had the same problem.  Is there an ftp site or another site, from which I might down load the exe? Thanks for your response.J0HN

John,
I sent you the file right off my Jornada just now. Try that one, it is the one that I use without any issues.

I think the smiley face was supposed to be a colon followed by a capital D. Right, J0HN? Try disabling emoticons before entering the e-mail address.
