Has anyone heard if you can upgrade to 4.2 or 5.0?

Anything about flashing it?

Would it be possible to add some DLL's to 4.1 so that pocket PC applications worked on the PHH?
You know like GAPI style things.

Please share the info you have on the DLL's.

I mean logically if you had some files that act like run-time engine for PPC applications, then that's it, a whole new world for PHH.

I contacted Bsquare and they said that their work for Ce 4.2 was half way through when they were told to pull the plug.

This is probably a long shot but IF, only IF some one had those files.

He told me that there was also a CD with Bsquare apps for the PHH but I never got that.
Can anyone Ftp it please!

no one has such a runtime, but the dlls can be downloaded from my site, izemize.fw.hu/hpc.php

search on the forums about info on their usage

That's interesting. After discontinuing the product for so long, they still bothered to tell you so much detail? I mean that's a very good thing.

Yes it is a long shot to try to obtain CE 4.2 because it isn't as easy as installing a patch. To upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2, the ROM probably needs to be flashed. BTW, I can flash my Smartbook to 4.1 or 4.2 as I want. Altho there's really no reason to go 4.1; I just did it out of curiosity and it wasn't very productive

But the interesting thing is that there are some new PPC Phone Editions (WM5 no less) coming out recently or soon that resemble the PHH. Finally the concept is getting popular, and ironically bSquare is out of the market. They or any OEM could easily update the PHH (very little needed) and sell it with WM5, and probably make a profit out of the old design

yeah. when i wrote to support (to get the master password for my bsquare.. out of curiosity) they answered & helped promptly. another story, a friend of mine called them before buying a bsquare (of course not from them.. ebay) and they talked a lot about the bsquare! good thing really

Something to do with the XP type look I think, and then MS offered BS something for them to stop PHH.

If I find the article again I'll post it.
