For those of you who must suffer under the ridiculousness of AOL, it is nevertheless possible to send and receive on your HPC. If your Pocket Outlook has IMAP capability, AOL has recently gone IMAP, and you can set it up to receive your AOL mail.

But you can't send because AOL need smtp authentication, unsupported by POutlook. So simply set up nPOP, which does support authenticated mail, with the AOL send specs, and use nPOP for sending and POutlook for receiving. Byzantine, but apropos of AOL.

It's a dreadful ISP, but I am literally married to it I myself use Earthlink, far friendlier, and all-nPOP, all the time.
