either i'm dumb or the program is crap
i tried really hard when i had to get a longer init string to work than the max that CE allows
(umm, theres a reghack but allegedly it works only WM2003+
), but it would not always work, was somehow really random
maybe with dialup it is behaving itself better.
(i tried with a mobile phone & gprs
)
We're not talking specifrically about ATInt scripts here
(hayes or otherwise
), it's more about log-in modification scripts for MSDUN
(Equant style
). Equant are an organisation associated with compuserve who provide additional dial-in services. In order to connect to the proprietry system you need to either install Compuserve, or run the equant script across the log-in procedure. AOL may use a similar system.
I had a look as I wrote this and there are a few examples I can see at a glance of Mac's using scripts to connect to AOL.
Of course, troubleshooting the AOL H/PC program would probably be quicker... but I don't really care for it, or have experience with it to assist the original poster other than presenting these options.
You really need to hit AOL in a full terminal and find out what is going on with the dial-up session to get a solid answer of course.
