I've downloaded a driver for a wireless CF card which is supposed to be compatible with CE 3.0/mobilepro 790 (hawking cf100w) and downloaded the driver, but the MP won't let me install it, saying that "there is no application associated with this driver - please run the application and then open the driver" or something like that. It also won't install on my PC, which says it doesn't recognize the file type (the driver is called cf100w[1].exe-0318f4ff on my MP790, and it has a ".pf" extension on my PC). Any words of wisdom? Seems I'm missing something very basic here.
I just used that driver on the ex's 789 a week ago and it worked fine.
Rename the hawking installer to get a proper .exe extension. Then run it.
You should have a .cab file somewhere after running the Hawking installer. IIRC, I fished them out of my \temp folder on my desktop before I terminated the installer.
Copy the proper .cab file to your 790 (prism.hpc300mips.cab) using AS or with a CF card.
Doubleclick the .cab file on the 790 to install. Insert the wifi card and enter prismnds when prompted.
If this doesn't work maybe hard-reset the 790 and try again.
