| cool. I didn't realize that they are that cheap. Sounds like a cool gadget for my SmartBook at an affordable price. thcrw739, do tell me if it works on CE 4.2
But even if it works, I would take a look on eBay. Just did a quick check and that particular adapter seems to be easy to find, but I didn't look at the winning bids... |

| I couldn't find it on eBay. Any chance it'll work on H/PC 2000 (or even H/PC Pro )? |

| . . . which is proprietary to the specific receiver manufacturer, isn't it? Or can I use my Pharos/Ostia maps (or even Pocket Streets )? |

| no no, usually a GPS (not gprs my mistake in my prev post lol ) isn't proprietary. there are protocols (NMEA, or whatever ) that are standard and every map software (well, the ones that are nav software too ) knows them. so the only question is if the map software you wish to use will run on hpc pro / hpc2000 / etc.. | Here's an example:

Altho from this seller, shipping to Canada is not cheap at all! Who are they trying to fool? Shipping that little bugger should cost way less...
And this winning bid is exactly $36

As for GPS compatibility... I thought the standard is to use a COM port, thru RS232 or Bluetooth, so you don't need a driver for those (but need external power ). I'm not sure about CF... I just know they draw power from the CF slot and don't need a battery, but do they need a driver to use that COM port? |

| Glad everyone is liking the link. I don't have an HPC, but when I see stuff like that I always try to bring it here. |

| Hehe, I wish I could cmonex. Been trying to save money, and haven't been able to justify the purchase, but that doesn't mean I can't look. |

| Have you received your GPS yet and does it work? Interested for J720 but only if it is fully functional-would like to use it with Pocket Streets 2005 or 2006 if it works.
The units are still readily available on ebay. They aren't listed in the hardware compatibility guide. Thanks

| I'm also keen on hearing the results. I could use a pair of them for my various hpcs. |
