Just wanted everyone to know that the D plug works perfectly from RS with the MP800. As a matter of fact, you can buy the socket for the plug to fit into as well. It has a 6 inch wire attached to it that you can solder onto any compatible a/c adapter. it is part number 273-1734 and it sells for $2.99, the D connector, part 273-1707 cost me $4.99. I had an old 12V 2.5A HP laptop a/c adapter and it is working fine, and charging fine as well.

Rich
Glad it works, now just have to get some time...

You can definitely use the sync cable. It's very interchangeable; I use the same sync cable for my 800 and my 790.

ac adapter isn't compatible voltage requirements are different because of the larger battery & screen

Rich... I think I just found the PERFECT power supply! I came across it when I unplugged my USB CD drive, which now makes it impossible to use with anything (Sony i-Link/USB2 - Needs power to work, the DVD writer works and so does the adapter, but that leaves out trying the CD drive without an adapter. Cannot be powered by the USB bus in other words!).
I havent started it up yet, as I am worried about the magic smoke escaping....!
Anyway, if you want a ghander, it is this:

Would that work?

Put it this way, it was a lucky find!
Actually, I was worried about it, but my father plugged it in, and green light!
Then turned it on, RESPONSE!
Knocked the power off, BUGGER! Lost it!

EDIT: The battery is on its way over, it is with the other unit!
So, all I need is a new AC adapter, and after all that, the awnser was right in front of me!

Well, it works! (Until there is a power failure!)
Anyway, a shot of WMP looking better in its "streched form"! It is actually clearer.

Anyway, I have installed:
Clik driver
IRC CE
Orinoco network card drivers
Pocket Artist
Screensnap
Sound Widget
Windows Media player
Morph Gear
Network Utilities from the Power Toys pack
Some utilities from the plus pack (how does the quick start menu work BTW?)

Still to install:
Wallpaper
Pocket DOS
IR phone drivers....
Any suggestions?

Using the unit I have already found difficault by the way, the 131mhz CPU isn't really speedy enough for my liking. I have used my MP780 and I prefer that as it response quicker.
USB + WMP using the USB device + Activesync + IE = Slow!!!
Looks like the MIPS CPU doesn't like multitasking, but it is thankfully NOTHING like the SH3 which is slower still!
Oh, does anyone know where I cna find some keyboard drivers for external keyboard?

EDIT: No comment please!

For those wondering, I finally got to have a look at the ROM swap. I tried for a test, the 800 vice 780 ROM (Why WEN, oh why?).
Anyway, The MP800 works ok with its own ROM, as if you didn't know, but I removed the 800 ROM, plugged in and screwed in the MP780 ROM and......
... It didn't start! .....
Took it out and plugged in the 800 rom, worked
Plugged in the 780 again and it refused to start.....!
Plugged in the 800 rom and again, it refused to start!

Actually, I tell a lie, the last time it did!

So, 800 vice 850? Not a chance!
