| I have checeked the Enterasys pages and I have doubts that the "Multiomode PC Card" is the right one. It is a CardBus adapter that supports .11a/b/g. Your card must be an older product, am I right? |

| I like that, I really do.
Click on your link, click on 'Jornada 728' and click on the link to come back to the forum.
It's a crazy recursive loop, sci-fi style causality loop where everything brings you back here to me.. you'll never leave. muhahaha!
I always forget that they eventually released a 2000 build. I don't have WiFi, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it |

| That was really fast!
I've found a moderator named Chris there but since I did not register I was not able to check out his identity |

| How about big GOOGLE? hehe
-So there is no other way to find ssid's then netstumbler at the moment? I mean, some hotels advertise free wireless, but don't generally give you the ssid...As my 350 is unsupported - I guess I'll have to stick to my house for a while. |

| Actually, would setting our own SSID to ANY work? Where is the zero-config setup when you need it! |

| I'll probably solve my scanning problems with some e-bay's help (350, too). |

| like i said before i use the enterasys card and ministumbler, i leave the SSID blank on one of my profile settings of my wireless card, and ministumbler finds all the SSIDs. I just find the ones without any security and connect to it. I can't believe most people don't use any security near where i live, for god sakes i was able to change someone's router settings to allow me access because they left the default name and password on their router. |

| Yeah "ANY" should auto connect to any unsecured AP. MiniStumbler requires you to set to "ANY" in order to find the APs anyway.
The zero-config setup is in CE .net, like the one in Smartbook |

| Just a friendly warning to all public WiFi users...
It is not hard AT ALL for the public network to be "hacked". Meaning anything you send thru a public network is not secured.
Log on to your email account (either POP or webmail, or whatever) and all your login info could've been recorded by someone in the middle.
Visit a website that has a login cookie, and all your login info stored in the cookie could've been recorded by someone in the middle.
I hope you get the idea.
That's why I do not store password in my email client, and I don't save cookies on my handheld. I only use them on private networks, such as the work place or home. |
