I have wall socket and car chargers with USB power outputs so that my wife and I can charge our mobile phones using the same charger (or an obliging computer) and the appropriate USB cable.

I have done all sorts of searches but cannot find a USB charger cable for the Jornada 720 and would like to ask the techies out there:
1 If it is at all possible for such a creature to exist?
2 If it is are there any available cos I can't find one?
3 If it is possible and there are none available is anyone up for working out how to do it?

Hope I'm not asking a stupid question, regards to all
John

I think you can't do such a thing, because J needs at least 1Amp to charge and USB can only provide 500mAmp

500 mA is enough, my first charger for my first jornada 720 could do only 500 mA.

the problem is voltage, usb cannot supply the required 12V...

better to go out and get a plain car charger that fits the j720

Wow, my j728 charger does 12V 2.5A!

*edit* ok that was me about to turn into a werewolf at midnight. Anyway, I regained control of my mind and figured the j728 itself says 12V 2.5A at the bottom. So what's this talk about 1A or 500mA. Is the 728 more power hungry? Grrr...

don't worry, 2.5A is the original ac adapter for all jornadas, 680, 690, 720, 728... (i got it with the 728 too 720 never had it), but it is more than enough to charge the jornada. i doubt a jornada would ever take that much current.

Thanks. I felt there was some good reason why one was not available.

Regards
