| Hi. just a few days ago, I was tweaking around my server use NTT Docomo Sigmarion. I was increasing the storage memory space, when all of a sudden the screen became black! I was running a server on this machine for pocketpc.stingraze.net until Tuesday!! Does anyone know how to remedy this? I tried hard resetting, but no luck. Is there a possible remedy to a situation like this?

| Wow. Did it get a shock or something? Sometimes the best thing to do in these kind of situations is just to leave it alone for a few days, in an open, airy place just to clear it of anything. Anything that you thing might have led to this? (water, shock, overclocking?) |

| Nope. No Hardware tweaking at all. Well, it just went black after I reduced the memory for running the OS.... (but they limit it to 16MB so I don't know why ). Well another thing, I dropped it about 30cm... (but is it that weak? ) Now, the site's running on the Geocities server... (somebody help... |

| Well, it may not be built like my 720, which has been thrown 5 feet (twice) dropped onto a cement floor (a scratch on the cover to remind me to wear sweatshirts with pockets!) And another drop somewhere else that I don't remember. Since its screen is loose, it may go blank soon too. (In which I will remove myself from this forum in disgust of breaking another hpc)
Anyways, it just be broken dude. Play around with it, because your problem is so strange... |

| stingraze,
Has the backlight gone in the LCD? If you get a torch and shine it at an angle into the display, can you still see anything? |

| i think the whole screen's bad... doesn't work with the light. When I put my ear close to the speaker down below, I can hear some noise, so prolly it's not 100% dead... |

| The CPU will naturally emit EMI which you can hear. Alas it doesn't mean that it is working, just that it is getting power. |

| Perhaps you can pop it open and see if there are any loose wires? |

| Mine has the similar problem.
My Jornada 710's display has gone, but its screen still seems to work.
Even though i can't see anything in the daylight,
I was able to see something from the 45 degrees above in a room light at night.
I think my problem is only the backlight has gone.
Is there anyone can fix this problem?
Happy New Years! |

| Actually, I had this kind of problem a year ago.
But I could fix it by just leaving it for a week.
At this time, I may also try that remedy, but I'm not sure how it works. |

| The insides of a Sig.
Gutsy
How about writing us a photo guide on opening up the Sig successfully, things to watch out for, tools you need etc?
If you want we can post it here on the site. |
