Buffalo WLI-CB-G54HP and mp 790

hi all... i recently obtained a buffalo WLI-CB-G54HP, and tried to install it on my mobilepro 790. the driver installation went well, but the hpc refuses to detect the card. it doesnt even ask if i want to run the card on battery power. switching back to my linksys wpc11 is fine... has anyone managed to get this combination to work? thanks!
