you're right of course
. I've written my response on a WinXP machine where the same feature is called "minimize all"
(right-click in taskbar, "minimize all" in context menu
). I'm no developer, but I guess it's basically the same API call.
Battery warning is no application. The dialogue box is defined in explorer.exe and displayed by explorer.exe. So it doesn't appear in task lists or any list of active applications in any task manager I've tested till now. I guess it would help to kill explorer.exe ...
Therefore Alt + Tab cannot work either. Of course it's possible to switch to another running application. But displaying desktop is once again explorer.exe's job ...
