| Hi, I think I suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. As a result I have an uncanny ability to spot flaws and defects in things almost immediately. Worse however is the fact that those little scratches and dings drive me nuts! I just purchased a J728 from ebay, and despite the seller's assurances to the contrary the top of this unit is scratched. The screen is perfect as is everything else save for the top casing. While the scratches are relatively small it's a bother nonetheless.
So here is my proposal I am looking to trade this unit with someone who has taken care of their unit, but isn't as anal about cosmetics as I am. Your J728 must be MINT. No scratches and I need a photo. In return I will trade you units and toss $100.00 in your direction for the trouble. Money can be paid through Paypal for instant funds, units will be sent at the same time however. My ebay user ID is wtucey, I have 102 feedback comments at 100%. You can contact me here or at wtucey@hotmail.com.
Thanks |

| You would really give $100 more for a few less scratches? |

| Yes, a hundred dollars is what I was quoted by a custom paint shop to restore the unit to mint condition. Unfortunately that requires me to disassemble my 728 to provide the shop with the casing only. |

Yep, I'm surprised no one has responded, unless nobody has one that's mint. |

I don't think C:Amie even has a 728. |

| From what I know, there are many user case mods of notebooks, pdas and some hpcs. It does require taking the case apart to sand the surface (known as prepping ) to prepare it for the paint coat. Most of those mods I've seen are multi-layer coats, with a clear lacquer finish. The multi layer gives it a shine similar to that seen in cars, besides being tougher ...

| Well I finally found a workable solution. I contacted a local paint and autobody shop and described the scratches to the owner. Basically he stated as long as I couldn't feel the scratches, that he could buff and polish em out, and the best part is that he quoted only twenty dollars and 15 minutes do the job! So needless to say I am now withdrawing my offer, and I'll be sure to post pics after the work is done. |

Yes but someone needs to give me a crash course on loading pics to this site. I'm clueless when it comes to html. |

| You just need to use the normal reply screen (not the quick reply box), and check the option "Attach a file after posting". After you submit your reply, you will be taken to a screen to upload any file from your system. Note that there are restrictions to file size, and I forgot what it was... |
