Although HD DVD and Blu-Ray are not released yet, how many of you plan to purchase Blu-Ray or HD DVD or do you plan to stay with DVD and/or LD? Personally, I am going to stay with DVD and LD. However I may be forced into buying a Blu-Ray or HD DVD Drive for future computer software ...

I am interested, but not immediately - the costs of both the hardware and the software have to come down for poor little ol' me to get one. In terms of which standard, Blu-Ray or HD DVD, I don't care, whichever one "wins" (has the most support & software, best hardware, most likely to survive into the future)

DVD is the only one I have the ability to play, and there is no way I'm going to be replacing all my DVD's with something moderatly better.
The future is not disc based, that's for sure.

I am still using 21" tv's at home, so not really usefull to look into HD and stuff yet. This is the same reason why I havent gotten an XBOX360 yet. Mine is still good enough, and a higher res on a smaller tv wouldnt make a difference anyway.

If I want a big screen, I watch a DVD on my portable dvd player, and sit very close to it. This gives me the same effect as a big screen where you sit a mile away from.

None of us will *plan* to buy any specific format, format "x" will be our only choice.

You can just vote again for Blu-Ray, you can vote as many times as you want...

Yeah, movies will probably just be streamed for a fee in the future. Persoanlly, I do not mind physically holding the movie...

I like physically holding it, you don't feel cheated when your hard disk crashes then.

But er, is the incidious like of RIAA and MPAA that you have to contend with in the US have anything do with it, it's all swings and roundabouts:
