I am a big fan of TCPMP. I think it is the best video playback for Windows CE, period. I do get tired of having to constantly convert videos on my desktop so that they will run at decent speed on my handheld. Even if there are tools that make this process easy, it still is far from optimal. I try to use my HPCs in as stand-alone a way as possible. I would love to see a tool for HPCs to transcode video & scale video resolution and framerate. TCPMP can already decode just about every video format known to man and can scale video as well. Why not create some sort of output plugin?

I want to play WMVs too... MediaPlayer does not use GAPI therefore it's very slow if any scaling is used

tcpmp can play wmv's easily on cenet.

just a benchmark, sig3 played a qvga 400 kbps wmv at 174% when i ran it in full screen, it was still able to handle it over 110%.

Are you saying that you're gonna try it in CE 2.0? I'd be interested to see if that works - it might get me interested in looking for a color CE 2.0 H/PC . . . .

Are you sure? The readme says:

WinCE 2.xx (for older HPC's and PalmPC devices)

No, Trully, TCPMP doesnt run on CE2.0, in My HP360LX i've received this message: "Cannot Find "player.exe" or one of this components....."
I love TCPMP two ways: It runs very good all video format supported, and it's free!

i'd already tried earlier, and no joy, not even with older versions of betaplayer, i just meant i'd try again (i complained to the developers a few months ago )

Darn. I thought maybe in version .72 they figured out a way to make it compatible with CE 2.0.

Yeah, they tried to make TCPMP compatible with CE 2.0, but the developers tried to do that the CE 2.0 and CE 2.11 versions install from the same CAB file (in the CAB file i read "tcpmp ce 2.xx cabs".
If any people can try, do it:
Install TCPMP for Windows CE 3.0 in TCPMP Folder in Program Files. After, install TCPMP for CE 2.11 in the TCPMP2 folder in Program Files.
Finally re-install the CE 3.0 version in the TCPMP folder. Copy the "player.exe" from TCPMP2 to TCPMP folder.
Now you have the TCPMP for CE 3.0 installed!!
Here, all right....
