Site speed on hpc vs. slow pc tablet

The new site is very fast on my desktop and I have no more timeouts or other problems like that on any platform.

But, I dusted off my Amity tablet, (a whopping 586/133mhz, basically a next gen 486) and it's 2-3 times as fast as any of my hpcs on this site.

I find my hpcs are as fast as the Amity on most other sites so I can't account for the differences in speed here.

Any ideas? Chris? Is there any tuning you can do to optimize for hpc users?
