I go to Western Dental and notice that they are using a Windows CE like desktop os(guess it prevents viruses and spyware). All I know is that their screensaver says Windows CE, so I assume that they are using CE. Perhaps they are not, but its fooled me. I tried asking one of their recep people, who got offended that I would ask such a question. It was not that big of a deal, frankly..

About 2 years ago the offices that I visited were using Windows 3.11 or NT 4 or whatever it was that looked like 3.11 before the 95 shell.

Is there a CE desktop os or was I thus daydreaming?

Think Mira or something like that. Basically, a thin client device comprising mostly of just a screen and enough hardware, ROM/RAM to run CE on it. It would then terminal service into a host server/pc and display the session on the thin client itself.
