ABC Amber text - fails and no support? Pocket Word conversion

I bought a copy of ABC Amber text, which claims to convert between numerous text file formats. When I went to convert to/from pocket word (so I could be freed of active sync and possibly convert files from afar) I found the program failed with only cryptic error messages, and the support e-mail address has not responded to several requests for help. The program does require installation of active sync (not mentioned in the product info, but discovered after an error message), and it appears it harnesses a DLL from active sync (not a bad idea), but it is failing with no leads as to why, and no support from the vendor.

Has anyone else had experience with the vendor or product?

Which AS version are you using, and have you tried the AS file conerter?
